AHF Opens 2017 Grantmaking to Advance Health and Wellness in San Diego and Imperial County

Alliance Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a San Diego-based nonprofit organization which works to advance health and wellness for the poor, uninsured and underinsured, children and the homeless in the San Diego and Imperial Counties, today announced the opening of the application period for its 2017 Mission Support Grants (MSGs).

Since 2010, AHF has awarded approximately $1 million of unrestricted funding annually to regional nonprofits through the MSG program.

ahf-nancy-sq-500“AHF developed the Mission Support Grants program to help local organizations accomplish their mission of positively impacting the health of the community ,” said AHF Executive Director Nancy Sasaki. “Year by year, we’ve generated more participation and funded innovative organizations with these grants, making us very excited to see what types of applications we receive for 2017.”

The application period opened October 5th and will close November 4th. All applications received by then will be evaluated, with grantees being chosen by a vote from AHF’s Board of Trustees in February 2017.

Previous winners of a Mission Support Grant from AHF include organizations that are intimately involved in serving the underserved—the poor, working poor, uninsured and underinsured, children and the homeless—in the San Diego and Imperial Counties.
