Program-Related Investments


Program-related investments (PRIs) are investments made by foundations to further their philanthropic goals.

Program-Related Investments cover two distinct categories of investments:

  1. To achieve specific program objectives while they may earn a below-market financial return.
  2. To have a positive social or environmental impact while contributing to the foundation’s long-term financial stability and growth; or

Alliance Healthcare Foundation may make program-related investments s to further some aspect of our mission to advance health and wellness for the most vulnerable— the poor, uninsured and underinsured, children and the homeless in San Diego and Imperial Counties. This program is in addition to our annual funding opportunities (Innovation Initiative, Mission Support, and Responsive Grants) when the request is an alternative form of financing, such as a loan, a loan guarantee , or to secure a loan at a lower interest rate.
